Do I have to assign every chair?

When a chat or a spreadsheet is enough
Tiny list, no keep-aparts, list already closed: Excel or a chat draft is fine. The moment two people cannot share a table, or a plus-one is still unnamed, hand placement becomes the chore you are trying to leave.
